How to Choose Best Configuration Tablet in Low Cost?

Choose best configuration of tablet

What make tablets more beneficial and useful than laptops, is its smaller screen, easy portability, light weight and extended battery life. Tablets can be much compared with netbooks. People using tablets give it more importance for Wi-Fi surfing, Ebooks reading, movie watching and gaming. You can say tablets have become a status symbol in society.

We have a lot of choice of tablets in market. But having more choice is not always a good thing. Now that there are numerous brands, different sizes and multiple platforms, it actually requires some work to find the best device for you. Here I am sharing some points that you should consider when choosing your best configuration tablet under Rs. 15,000.

1. When selecting a tablet, you should be crystal clear what you're mainly using it for. Is it for work or entertainment or both? Is it for taking notes at meeting or for gaming and watching movie?
Most tablets in market can fulfill both roles pretty well, but there are some more suitable than others. Here i will suggest you to buy Lenovo's A2107 Tablet and HP slate 7. These tablets have some additional features for both entertianment and work.

2. Once you have your need fulfill, you should think What's the right size of your tablet.
Tablets can start from a modest 5-inch display and go up to 13 inches. Now days 7inch tablets are becoming  very popular in market. Obviously, the devices with the larger displays will be heavier and less portable and also require a powerful battery. Also a small screen tablets are not worth buy. Small screen tablets will not give you more satisfaction while playing games or watching movie. So i will suggest you 7 inches tablets like HCL Me series tablets, Samsung Galaxy tab2, Acer Iconic B1.

Besides the size of the display, you should also look at the screen resolution. You can find a list of tablets with high-resolution screens here.

3. What's the best choice Processor of tablets?
You have single core processor as well as dual core processor in your range. You have to carefully examine the speed and performance. I here suggest you to choose dual core processor tablets like Samsung Galaxy tab2.

4. Operating System
You have of choice of iOS and Android. In your range, the best operating system is undoubtedly Android. But point comes to the versions of android available in this Rs.15,000 range. You can get latest version of android Jelly Bean in this range tablets like in Samsung galaxy tab2, Hp slate 7 etc. You should make sure that is your tablet support google app store or have any other store like HCL Me tablet.

5. Memory
This is not a big discussion point, because a range of mobiles are available in different RAM and ROM. The best choice for memory is 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM (Expendable to 32GB). Here i can suggest a number of tablets, but will prefer HCL Me Y1 and Y3, Huawai Media pad 7 lite tablet.

6. Voice calling and 3G supported
This is really very important point to discuss before selecting a best tablet. Mostly tablet doesn't have Sim slot or not having voice calling feature. Voice calling is important feature which differentiate tablet to laptop.
So while looking the specification, you should carefully select voice calling and 3G supported tablet. Huawai Media pad 7 lite and HCL Me Y1 and Y3 might be best choice.

7. Connectivity
Carefully examine the connectivity specifications of your tablet like bluetooth, sim slot, Wi-Fi, GPS etc.

I end this guide with a summary of what you should consider before getting a tablet. I will recommend you going to a retail tablet store and trying them out, don't completely rely on specs and review on websites.

Difference between CRT, Plasma , LCD and LED TV And How do they work

Different TV technology

There are different technology of Televisions are provided in market like Plasma TV, LCD TV and LED TV etc. Here in this post i will try to differentiate between all these TV technology which will help you to choose the best TV technology.

  •  There was a time when all TVs contained a cathode ray tube (CRT) and, as a result, were bulky and heavy. CRT TV  work by firing a stream of negatively charged particles, called electrons, at a phosphor screen. When an electron strikes a phosphor atom, the atom becomes excited and emits light of a certain colour, hence creating one picture element, or “pixel”, of a TV picture.
These boxy sets take up a lot of space, cannot be viewed clearly from all angles and don’t display high-definition picture. I agree that the CRT TV dominated the market in the second half of the 20th century, but the search for a thinner, lighter and more energy efficient alternative dramatically reduce the demand of CRT TV.

  • Plasma TV technology is same as basic principle of CRT TV insofar as it relies on excited phosphor atoms to produce each pixel of a TV picture. However, instead of using a CRT, a plasma TV screen lights each pixel with a hot, ionized gas, consisting of atomic nuclei and electrons. This method allows every pixel in the display to be turned on or off at the same time and the absence of a CRT means that plasma TVs can be much thinner and lighter than their CRT counterparts.
Plasma televisions have excellent picture quality and use less electricity than traditional CRTs. The colors are very sharp and the televisions also display very deep blacks. The screen can sometimes experience a “color burn” if they get a lot of use. When the television is turned off, a shadow of images may stay on the screen, and the color may be slightly faded in the areas that are burned. One of the primary drawbacks of plasma technology is its cost. These TVs are somewhat heavier than others of their kind. They are also prohibitively expensive to repair and sometimes cannot be repaired at all. Plasma TVs also look much better in low light than in bright light.

  •  liquid crystal display (LCD) TV technology, although  LCD panels don’t, by themselves, generate any light of their own. Liquid crystal molecules twist and untwist when a voltage is applied or removed, so they’re simply used to regulate the passage of light from a traditional light source. If light is allowed to pass through a particular pixel, the pixel is “on” and appears light on the TV screen; if not, the pixel is “off” and appears dark.
LCD TVs are a good choice for people looking for an affordable HDTV. They have a much better picture quality and they’re relatively light-weight. They’re also ideal for watching television in any light condition; they work equally well in dark or well-lit rooms. One problem that some people have with LCD technology is that it is limited when compared to other types of HDTVs. The display has a low contrast ratio, and there is no way to get “true” black on the screen. This leads to LCD TVs having a slightly washed-out look that some people do not like. Additionally, some of the crystals in the display can burn out, leading to “dead pixels” on the screen. These blank flecks are irreparable and can be very distracting.

  • The latest type of HDTV use LED technology, known as light emitting diode (LED) TV is actually a special case of LCD TV. An LED is a tiny electronic device that emits light when a current passes through it. LEDs can be used to light LCD panels, either by means of an array positioned directly behind the panel or by housing them on the sides of the screen.
LED TVs have better color contrast and brightness than other type of TV technology. The display is bright enough to watch in any light. They also draw less power than either LCD or plasma displays, and the energy efficiency helps to compensate for the technology’s fairly high cost.
The greatest drawback of an LED TV is its cost. Because the technology is new, it is more expensive than its competition. Additionally, LED TVs still sometimes suffer from the “dead pixel” issue that haunts LCD screens.

What is the Best Laptop/Computer Configuration in 2013 to buy?

How to decide the best laptop/computer configuration in 2013?

Before buying laptops, you need to decide certain things for yourself like processor, graphics card, memory etc. With a few steps you will know the best configuration which is required for your laptop.
Go through given points, you will be in good condition to decide what is the best laptop and computer configuration.

1. The first thing that you need in your laptop and compute is  a processor. The best and latest configuration for a processor is the i5 which is more balanced. You will not be able to find out the difference between a i3 and i7 processor even while playing games, so this is only number increase not the configuration. The minimum number of frames that are required to form a video is 10. So any frame rate above 30 should give you a standard crisp and good video display anything above it is just a show off and does not make much difference to the viewer. If you play very big games, you need i3 or i5. I think HP laptop is a good choice if you want a powerful AMD processor and a great graphics card which give you a great high definition experience while playing games, watching movies, etc.

2. Now Coming to the graphics card: a decent laptop and computer configuration will exclude a graphics card and try to use the internal graphics hardware. A graphics card generally heats the processor and makes the life of a laptop very short. The more you use the graphics feature of a laptop more will it get heated and the faster will it become useless. If you really want to have a graphics card 1GB memory is more than enough. Anything more than that is never used by the programs even if available. Inspiron laptops are good choice, have an internal video graphics accelerator which shares 1GB of RAM to give you a good graphics output.

3. Coming to hard disk drive: a 500GB hard disk drive can store plenty of things half of which will be never used by you. There is no need to go for higher capacity drives unless you want to fill your laptop/computer with more than 450 high quality films. You never get the time to listen to even 1GB music for your whole life.

4. SRS surround sound is always an added benefit for watching movies and listening to your favorite music.

5. Anything above 6GB RAM is a waste of money and resources. Many computer magazines will tell you that only 3GB of the RAM is used by your computer with the heaviest of programs running on it. You can open 10 application on a computer having 512 MB RAM.

6. A good laptop/computer configuration should yield you at least 2.30 hours of power backup. Anything less than that is not negotiable. Battery will give you higher backup provided you do not have a graphics card which gives you higher performance.

7. Coming to Touch-pads: Dell gives you the advantage of having bigger touch-pads. Touch-pads are good to use when they are larger in size.

8. A laptop/computer should have at least 4 USB ports, 1LAN port, HDMI port, SATA port and another port for connecting to external video display devices like monitor or projector. Wi-Fi is a must for every laptop. A laptop without Wi-Fi is no laptop at all.

9. Laptop/computer with pre-installed OS saves you some money. You may install the OS later. But, machines with pre-installed OS comes with the added benefit of a motherboard CD. In the other case you need to individually download the motherboard CD and use its contents after burning it to a disc. Also a registered version of the OS that comes with a laptop with a pre-installed OS is definitely an added benefit.

I think this is the best laptop configuration for laptop/computer users. Comment your views.

If someone had root access, and he doesn't know what he is doing, then there could be serious damage to your smartphone. So manufacturers keep devices locked by default to prevent you from turning your phone into an expensive paperweight.

  4. Rooting your Android phone lets you upgrade to the latest version of the Android operating system.
  5. Rooting your Android features to free memory on your device, Rooting your Android phone will allow you to manipulate and move partitions.

Lava Etab Xtron - Specification and review

Lava has launched its new tablet named Etab Xtron. This tablet offers features that no other tablet in the same price range does. It is available in the Indian market, for Rs. 6,499.M37NEDWZKXNJ

The Lava Etab Xtron runs Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean, the latest iteration of the operating system, and doesn't include any custom skin.Etab Xtron is powered by a 1.5GHz Cortex A9 dual-core processor. It has a 7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024 x 600. While the IPS panel will give the tablet decent viewing angles, the resolution seems rather low, as is expected from a tablet with this price, and the aspect ratio is a bit odd. The tablet has 1GB of RAM to help its performance.

Specifications :

Operating System      :     Android v4.1

Processor                  :     1.5GHz Dual-Core Cortex A9

Memory                     :     1 GB DDR3 RAM

Display Size               :     7-inches

Resolution                  :     1024×40

Front camera              :     2 MP HD

Dimensions (mm)        :     131 x 184 x 11.5 mm (350 g)

Battery Capacity         :     3500mAh

Inbuilt Memory           :     8 GB (Expandable Up to 32 GB)

Lava Etab Xtron tablet which is decent compared to other 7-inch budget tablets in the segment, looks compact yet sturdy. The touch sensitivity is good. The screen brightness is average, and although  it's reflective to some extent, visibility under sunlight is not bad.

The Etab Xtron is one of the few tablets that runs Jelly Bean. Unlike the Nexus 7, the tablet's onscreen controls are on the bottom left instead of the centre

The other major feature that Jelly Bean brings is 'Google Now', a voice based information assistant and an extension of Google search. You can ask questions and the tool returns answers or search results. It uses 'cards' which are essentially small boxes that offer different sets of information ranging from weather forecast, directions, traffic information, scores, appointments, and currency conversion, among others.

We're not sure if the tablet will get updated to Jelly Bean 4.2, but if it does, features like multi-user accounts  and lock-screen widgets would also come to the tablet.

The tablet comes with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The pictures  quality with the front camera, indoors, were decent. The camera does a decent job when used for making video calls over Skype or other video chat apps.

The tablet comes with a 3,500 mAh battery and i am not very happy with the backup that it offered, specially when playing multimedia files.

Good

    Runs Jelly Bean
    Good performance
    Decent design

Bad
Battery life could have been better
    No Bluetooth

The Lava Etab Xtron is a decent tablet. At a price of Rs. 6,499, it offers a good package with decent hardware, compact form factor, a screen that supports wide angled viewing and the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean. It's a good value for money proposition. It's also interesting to look at if you're looking for an e-reader or for a device for browsing the web.

Best Apps to Make Free Voice Calls

Almost all operators are increasing their voice call tariffs and remaining are expected to follow suit. In some cases the tariff has gone up by 100 percent while in others carriers are reducing free minutes and other benefits. This could offset most users’ monthly bills, especially for those who prefer making voice calls rather than relying on text messaging.

However, there are many free options available to replace traditional voice calling with apps that let you do the same over an Internet connection. Here is a list of some apps that could help you cut your monthly cellphone bill drastically if you have access to a Wi-Fi hotspot or have a good 3G data plan.

Skype:

Frankly, you cannot have such a list without mentioning Skype. After all it was THE app that started it all. Skype it is available on a multiple platforms – iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone. You can buy Skype credit and directly call your contacts on their phone numbers, but if you have friends on Skype, then you can experience the best video calling service in the world for free.

Viber:

Viber is a mobile phenomenon. It’s the type of service that makes executives from telecom operators squirm. The app itself replicates a dialer that syncs to social networks and picks up contacts who are also on Viber. Then you can use it to call your friends on Viber for video or plain voice calls. The best part it works purely on data, but if you have a contact who is not on Viber then you can also make a normal cellular call from the app itself.

WeChat:

On the face it, WeChat comes off as a What’s App rival, but there is more to the app than the messaging element. It has some cool voice messaging features built-in so you can either hold on to talk button and send voice message to your friends or even use the new video chat feature for real Skype-like video chats. You can even shut off the video bit so it can be a pure voice call.

Tango:

For the longest time the biggest paradox on Windows Phone was the absence of the Skype app, which was owned by Microsoft. Tango was the de facto solution, and it was always a very good solution. Heck, it’s still a solution for video and voice calls on Windows Phone, Android and iPhone. And it’s free.

Voxer:

Voxer is not your average calling app. Actually, it is not a calling app, its a walkie-talkie of sorts. It’s not very efficient all the time because one has to record a message and then wait for a the message but the user experience is fantastic. It’s really fun app and works over Wi-Fi and 3G. Like most of the others, it too is free.

Currently 3G market base is growing, but very slowly. Tata Docomo’s latest plans with double data benefits can change the mindset about 3G being costly.

Karbonn S1 Titanium - Specifications and Review

Karbonn S1 Titanium
MORE PICTURES

Karbonn has recently launched its new smartphone product named Karbonn S1 Titanium. The pricing and specifications of Karbonn S1 Titanium is very competitive with the Micromax Canvas HD A116. The device is now available on company's store and on official website for Rs. 10,990.

Let's breakdown some specifications of Karbonn S1 Titanium, we know so far and see how far comparable to Micromax Canvas HD A116.

Karbonn S1 Titanium key specifications
  • 4.5 -inch HD (960×540) multi-touch capacitive touch display
  • 1.2 GHz quad-core processor
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • Expandable memory up to 32GB via microSD
  • 5-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash
  • VGA front camera
  • Dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) with dual standby
  • 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP, EDGE, GPRS, GPS
  • 1,600 mAh battery

You no longer have to compromise on the OS, even if you’re shopping in the budget section.

For whatever reason, the S1 is only a dual-SIM GSM handset and will support 3G on one of the SIM slots. The A21 was a tri-band handset so we wonder what made Karbonn ditch a quad-band radio for a dual-band.
Karbonn hasn’t mentioned whether the display is IPS. We guess not, else it would have certainly not left it out. The size of the display is also a lot smaller. It’s a 4.5-inch qHD of 960 x 540 resolution, which puts the pixel count at 244.7ppi. This is quite less compared to the Canvas HD’s 1280 x 720 resolution on a 5-inch screen, raising the pixel count to 281.2ppi.

Based on Karbonn’s specifications, the S1 will measure 9.2 mm in depth, which makes it slightly thinner than the Micromax Canvas 2 A110. There’s no mention about the weight of the device, but we expect it to be around 130 g.

One of the highlights of the phone, the S1 titanium will feature 802.11 ‘n’ Wi-Fi, along with support for Draft b and g.

The main camera is a step down from the Canvas HD. Instead of an 8MP sensor, we have a 5MP sensor along with an LED flash. We don’t know if this is a regular sensor or a BSI one, although the latter would make up for the lack of resolution.

We know that GPS will be present, but we’re yet to see one of the lower-end handsets to include the GLONASS chip as well.
Simple and bland design of Karbonn S1 Titanium is attractive one feature.

Battery – Li-Ion 1600mAh  seems to be the weakest link in an otherwise well-rounded spec sheet. A 1600mAh battery just won’t cut it, especially with a quad-core SoC onboard. Karbonn’s A21 had a larger 1800Ah battery and yet failed to deliver an impressive battery life. With the same screen size, similar resolution, two additional cores and a smaller battery, the results don’t look too promising.

So going by the specifications, the Karbonn S1 Titanium is shaping up to be a slightly tamer version of the Canvas HD A116 from Micromax. The smaller and lower resolution screen and 5MP camera all point to a slightly cheaper device. While this does seem tempting, the Canvas HD offers you a lot more for a slightly higher price. I think the Micromax Canvas HD still maintains the lead as far as budget quad-core handsets go.
